I just returned from seeing "Soup Fest VI" in Lexington, Kentucky.

There was an amazing range of poets represented: a high school slam poet shouting for the world to change NOW, an older woman from the Green River Writers

an afrollachian poet who threw down some amazing lines

"Afrolachian" because we are Blacks living in the dirty South. "Appalachian" because this is the dirty South.

There was too much varied good stuff going on to soundbyte the experience, instead I'll give you some webpages and sound files of three featured poets, and let you experience a bit yourself.
